“A repository of knowledge”
It was interesting to read the article "A repository of knowledge,” (Parsiana, March 7, 2015) about the K. R. Cama Oriental Institute (KRCOI) in which it is mentioned that "old manuscripts have not been given the attention they deserve.”
When I was chief executive officer of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) I had 400 rare manuscripts (including those in Sanskrit) and extant editions of printed books put on CDs and distributed them worldwide to preserve our heritage.
The KRCOI can do likewise. It is not very costly. I received an outright grant of Rs 18 lakhs from the chairman of the State Bank of India to whom the BPP sent the CDs quarterly. B. T. DASTUR
