Protecting vultures

Parsi Zarthoshtis have been involved with vultures since the establishment of the dakhmenashini system in Iran. Today this system is slowly failing because of the decreasing number of vultures. It is our duty to help protect this scavenger bird which is on the verge of extinction otherwise this system of disposal of the dead will collapse.
We have to find ways and means to rear this bird economically instead of spending lakhs of rupees at the initial stage. I suggest that vultures be reared separately, for which we should be first able to identify the various species.
