The brain drain
One of the principal causes for the declining population of Parsis is the absence of education and employment opportunities within India compelling them to migrate, initially for higher studies and thereafter settling down there in the western part of the world. Parsi children, even after securing 95% plus in 10 + 2 level feel dejected due to reservation quotas for certain sections of the society. This results in a brain drain. Our community in India is already on the verge of being reduced to being called a tribe.
It is my earnest appeal to all anjumans and punchayets of India as well as to the Parsi representative on the National Minorities Commission to make a request directly to our new Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am optimistic that our appeal will be considered favorably since he has respect for our community.
An identical campaign by all the known Zoroastrian professionals like doctors, lawyers, architects, engineers, etc will provide added support to this campaign. HOMI DALAL

It is the excellence of the top educational institutions abroad that also attract bright students. Because numbers decline the nomenclature does not change to tribe. Tribe is not a category based solely on numbers.
