For her research paper titled "An evaluation of corporate governance practices of Indian listed companies and its relationship with firm’s financial performance” Farida Mandviwala was awarded the Master of Philosophy in Commerce degree by the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, in May 2014.

Assistant professor in SPB English Medium College of Commerce in Surat, the scholar was guided and supervised by Dr PunyaPrava Pradhan, associate professor at the same college. She was supported in her endeavors by principal V. D. Naik, colleagues and family members. Farida is married to Jahabux Adi Patel, mentions a write-up sent to Parsiana by Keki Doodhwala, former international cricket umpire and sports journalist.
