Atash Behram undisturbed
Though the Bandra-Seepz metro rail project will pass the Seth Hormasji Bomanji Wadia Atash Behram at Princess Street, the century-old fire temple will not be disturbed, a senior development authority official told Daily News and Analysis (DNA) on April 14, 2014.

Setting up the underground metro rail due to density of structures and the number of heritage buildings there would be a challenge but "we will not do anything to the fire temple in Kalbadevi,” he reassured. When informed that the detailed project report prepared by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority in November 2011 mentions that a portion of the fire temple would have to be acquired to install ancillary facilities such as a chiller plant and ventilation shaft, the official responded: "We are yet to finalize the plan. It will be done after the general consultants submit their report. That is why there is scope to make changes.”
A person conversant with the Atash Behram said some portion of the property may be excavated and then refilled but the structure would not be touched.
