A maachi was offered in Havan gah by the MBZA, followed by a jashan at 10 a.m. led by the head priest Ervad Framroze Dadi Vatcha along with 11 other priests. That evening MBZA president Bomi Bacha welcomed guests to a religious lecture by Ervad Marzban Hathiram, panthaky of the Ustad Saheb Bahramshah Nowroji Shroff Dar-e-Meher at Behram Baug, Oshiwara. The well attended lecture on the "Role Played by Agiaries and Atash Behrams in Nature” was informative, and explained the difference between fire and atash and how a fire is consecrated into holy atash. Hathiram spoke of how the aura of a consecrated atash spreads far and beyond the place where it is enthroned.
Noted solicitor, former Bombay Parsi Punchayet trustee and chairman of the N. M. Wadia Charities Ervad Burjor Antia, who was present along with his wife Roshan, stressed the importance of Parsis adhering to their religion wholeheartedly.
The function ended with a contributory dinner subsidized by MBZA and catered by Jimmy Dandiwalla.
