Women’s Day recognition

By Sherene Vakil · May 21, 2014
Fitness trainer Dinaz Vervatwala and Hoofrish Jehangir Bisney, an artist specializing in creating fashionable eco-friendly jute products and painting with natural substances on canvas, were among a number of women who received recognition as Women Entrepreneurs of Twin Cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Khwaaish honored them at its Women’s Day Special Exhibition at the Taj Krishna, Hyderabad, on March 7, 2014, mentions an email received by Parsiana with a scanned newspaper clipping from the local newspaper Hyderabad Hans dated March 8.

When Parsiana sought further information, Bisney responded with extracts from Facebook. Khwaaish, started 10 years ago by five enterprising women, has grown into a network that brings people together to work for the betterment of the community. Venturing into the arena of exhibitions, Khwaaish helps talented persons to showcase their wares and expertise.
Vervatwala founded Dinaz’s Fitness Studio in 1993 when the field in Hyderabad was extremely unorganized and unregulated, carving a niche for itself by introducing scientifically designed exercise programs and advocating healthy living to keep fit. She offers personal training solutions for every kind of requirement and conducts training courses for instructors as well.
Bisney’s works of art are customized as per individual needs. Starting with painting on a T-shirt, she has converted her passion into a profession, still decorating T-shirts, painting on jute to discourage the use of plastics, and using coffee powder on canvas to create works of art. She also teaches craft to students at the primary level in schools. With her creative mind, she recycles waste items into useful environmental friendly items.
