Funds for Prayer Hall
The A. H. Wadia Trust will fund the entire construction cost of the prayer hall at the New Sewri crematorium, according to informal sources.

Plans for new Prayer Hall
Following protracted discussions the Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) had agreed to permit the Prayer Hall Trust (PHT) to build and donate a hall within the existing cemetery/crematorium complex on E. Moses Road at Worli. The 3,700 sq ft bungli with two halls will be open to people of all faiths but preference would be given in perpetuity to Zoroastrians for funerals and other four-day prayers held between 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3.30 p. m. to 8 p.m. Zoroastrians may use the facility even if the body has been cremated elsewhere in Bombay.
The PHT had appealed for funds (see "The prayer hall trust,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, February 7, 2014) and the chairman of the PHT Dinshaw Tamboly had stated "with a suitable response the hall should be commissioned in 12 to 15 months’ time.” Plans have been submitted for approval to the BMC.
The estimated cost of construction including development of a small green area around the structure and park was pegged at Rs 1.35 crores.
