“Rewind and fast forward”
I would like to thank you and your team for the commendable work and excellent coverage on the 10th World Zoroastrian Congress held in Bombay in December 2013. The event itself was a magnificent one and youth like myself have come away with immense knowledge and fond memories of the four days spent at the Congress.
In "Rewind and fast forward” (Parsiana, April 7, 2014) it has been reported: "When the ZYNZ (Zoroastrian Youth of New Zealand) members present were asked whether they had the funds with which to hold the World Zoroastrian Youth Congress (WZYC), they responded that they had started with NZ $ 5,000 (Rs 2,58,360) as seed money and are working hard to raise money through donations and delegates fees. ‘We will not go bankrupt,’ they averred, with the assurance of youth, as (no Congress has gone in a loss).”
As chair of the Sixth WZYC to be held in New Zealand in 2015, and after due consultation with other Youth Committee members in New Zealand, I would like to state that in our presentation on December 29, 2013, there was no time given for a question/answer session due to strict time restraints. Neither I nor any other youth members of ZYNZ could possibly have answered any questions pertaining to the Sixth WZYC.
The statement in your report is of immense concern to us, as it has been attributed to the ZYNZ. No words to this effect were said by any member of ZYNZ. For further clarity and proof on this matter, kindly refer to the DVDs that were recorded of the Congress and distributed to delegates thereafter.

Parsiana wrote to Tinaz Karbhari: "You have mentioned that there was no question and answer session due to time restraints. While this is true, when the laptop was being set up for the ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’-like game show, a member of the audience did ask the team about the funding and, as per the notes taken at that time, the answer received has been accurately reported.”
Karbhari responded: "Yes, I agree that a member of the audience did ask about the funding during the question/answer session conducted prior to the youth presentation. This was not directed to the youth but to the ex-president of ZANZ (Zarathushtrian Association of New Zealand) Paeterasp Vevaina and the response was made by him and not a youth member of the Congress Organising Committee.”
Parsiana regrets incorrectly identifying the person who responded to the question.
