Shahnameh exhibition

By Sherene Vakil · January 21, 2014
The Mazdayasnie Connection of California mounted an exhibition titled "Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh” at The Alexandra Girls English Institution in Bombay from December 28 to 31, 2013. Calling the iconic text "the crown jewel of Persian literature,” the exhibition displayed models, artifacts from Iran, painting and pictures that highlighted the battle of good over evil, the triumphs and tragedies of the Iranian kings and heroes, and items that underlined reverence toward and adoration of Asho Zarathushtra and the religion he established.
With lectures, entertainment (Iranian artistes came down for the event) and food, the exhibition which dealt with our Zoroastrian roots, the history of our ancient homeland Persia, tales of the valor of its kings and spiritual warriors through various dynasties, not to forget an insight into the basic tenets of the Zoroastrian faith and its ethos, attracted a large number of visitors.
