Honored in Honolulu

By Sherene Vakil · October 7, 2013
While returning from a holiday in Hawaii, friends of Homyar J. Mistry of Homz Prints saw a plaque dedicated to J. R. D. Tata, India’s pioneer in aviation, displayed at Honolulu airport. The Pacific Asia Travel Association had put up the plaque to honor Tata for "pioneering civil aviation in India; expanding the Indian industrial base; initiating partnerships between labor and management; exhibiting leadership in social and economic issues; (and) symbolizing the spirit of adventure and daring to the citizens of the world.”

Mistry has shared with Parsiana a photograph taken by his friends who excitedly narrated: "As we were traversing the long corridors of Honolulu airport to catch our return flight, we happened upon an exhibit that made us stop in our tracks, and (we) took the photos. There were other plaques of pioneers in aviation and hospitality, but this plaque made our jaws drop, and feel proud!”
