Brand specialists Interbrand and The Economic Times have brought out their first edition of Best Indian Brands, an India focused version of Interbrand’s study of Best Global Brands. Listing the Best Indian Brands from No.1 to 30, Tata with a brand valuation of US$10.907 million finds itself at the top of the table. Godrej is at No. 9 with a valuation of US$ 2.456 million. The details are carried in the Brand Equity section of The Economic Times of July 31, 2013. "Built on an ISO (International Organisation for Standardization) certified Brand Valuation methodology, this annual study takes into account several parameters including but not restricted to the companies’ finances, the role of the brand and how strong it is in the marketplace. In contrast to other studies and surveys that focus on consumer opinion or perception, Best Indian Brands is based on a foundation of solid data and analysis. In the years to come it will be the definitive source to track the health, fortunes and value of some of India’s biggest homegrown brands,” the paper notes. Reliance Industries, Airtel, SBI (State Bank of India), Infosys, HDFC Bank, Mahindra and ICICI Bank find themselves listed from positions two to eight respectively.
