“Refreshing curriculum”
I quote from the article "Refreshing curriculum” (Parsiana, July 7, 2013): "‘The time has come for Talibanization of the community. We must stop girls and boys marrying outside if we want our community to survive!’ vociferated Yazdi Desai, Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) trustee and World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis (WAPIZ) founder trustee.”
As usual Desai and WAPIZ want to do dadagiri (browbeating) on the entire Parsi community. What right have they to tell other Parsis whom they should marry?
Desai has also shown contempt for parents who allow their children to marry non-Parsis. Does he know that a son of Dastur (Dr) Firoze Kotwal is married to a non-Parsi as are the children of Dastur Meherjirana? Is he aware that many properly ordained mobeds are married to non-Parsis? Does Desai have contempt for these two high priests for allowing their children to marry out? Does he have contempt for all the priests who are married to non-Parsis?
Do Desai and WAPIZ have contempt for the Constitution of India which guarantees gender equality to all Indian citizens? Do they know that all citizens of India are equal before the law?
If they know this, why does WAPIZ have one law for intermarried Parsi males and their children and another for intermarried Parsi females and their offspring?
Why does WAPIZ constantly indulge in hypocrisy and double talk? Do they not realize that Parsis are highly intelligent and well-educated, and are not going to blindly swallow the absolute drivel dished out by WAPIZ and its members?
