Camping in the rain
Burzin Patel was the best boy camper and Freyna Katgara the best girl camper who headed the winning team at the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of India (ZTFI) youth camp held in Khandala on June 15 and 16, 2013 at the Marazban Sanatorium, notes a press release sent by Mehernosh Bamji and Bomanshaw Mistry of the ZTFI. Since the past three-and-a-half years the ZTFI has been organizing annual camps so that Zoroastrian girls and boys can interact with each other and develop qualities like leadership, sporting spirit and team work.
It was pouring heavily when the 45 youngsters reached the venue, but that did not dampen their spirits or deter their activities. The participants were divided into six teams which vied with each other to be victorious in the various activities which continued after the lunch and tea breaks. The highlight was the treasure hunt on the second day when the teams searched for 16 clues hidden at various locations by ZTFI volunteers. Conducting the camp were committee members Shiraz Guard and Vistaspar Mehta, helped by Nevil Zaveri, Mistry and Bamji. The volunteers were Zubin Nagla, Ashish and Parizad Taraporewalla along with Rohintan Sumariwalla, the press release mentions.
