Keys to a useful life

A non-Parsi friend once asked me whether he can be a Zoroastrian who is influenced by the morality of Parsis. Of course he can, as Zarathushtra has given the divine message to the entire universe and not only for the Parsis. However, the constitutions and administration of religious organizations and agiaries are an entirely different aspect, where non-Parsis are not allowed, being restricted to Zarthushtis by birth alone.
Those who have faith in the divine message can take pride in considering it the majistacha (great), vahishtaicha (benevolent) and sareshtaicha (best) religion.
The message of Zarathushtra is spiritual morality, humanitarian attitude, dedication to a good cause and determination to lead a useful, fruitful, peaceful and joyful life. The Gathas are philosophical songs and guidance with ethics of righteous behavior for the enlightenment of the atma (soul), inspiration for the upliftment of the soul. The main mandate is to think with care and compassion for the happiness of others, ushta, divine satisfaction in life by humata, hukta and huvrasta, good intentions, effective words and humanitarian actions.
Anyone who follows the Zarathushti way of life gets blessings from Ahura Mazda and protection from Sarosh. We must have amicable friendships, cooperation, compromise and understanding with all for a peaceful life. Zarathushtra assures us of timely divine help, guidance and inspiration to find our way out of difficulties, problems and challenges. Devotees develop willpower, self confidence, strength and endurance.
The code of conduct in the Zoroastrian religion is meant for all followers and helps to fight evil. The five principles are: fraspayo (amicable concern for all); khaydrani (respect for all religions); nidhaithism (not to inflict pain on anyone); khaitvadatah (self sacrifice, dedication and eschewing of ego); and ashavnim (straightforward, honest, devoted behavior). These are the keys to a useful life.
Rahe Mazdayasni results in ushta, spiritual attainment and union with the yazats for their blessings. There is no need to remind the intelligent Parsi community to follow this moral selfless life for their upliftment.
