Ripon report
The Ripon Club housed in the commercial Fountain area of Bombay made a profit of Rs 2,46,684 in the financial year 2011-2012, states the hoary institution’s 125th annual report. This was more than double the surplus of the previous year, Rs 1,22,480. The total investments of the Club as of March 31, 2012 amounted to Rs 75,21,117.
A total of 16 new members were added in the year, while 25 resigned and seven expired. Membership is open only to Parsi/Irani Zoroastrians. The total number of members is 675 of whom 10 are "lady members.”
The report notes however, "no associate member, male or female or lady member is entitled to contest any office and no such member is entitled to vote or attend the meeting.”
