Natasha’s hat trick

Natasha Umrigar: artistic achievement

For the third time in three consecutive years Natasha Umrigar of Baroda has won an international award for drawing. The 13-year-old daughter of Dinaz and Yazdi received a Certificate of Merit for winning the International Drawing Competition — Egypt this year. The subject for the competition was "Egypt in the eyes of the children of the world,” as per an e-mail received by Parsiana from her mother Dinaz. In the previous two years the young artist had won the competition from Macedonia, Europe (see "Natasha does it again,” and "Golden palette for Natasha,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, October 21, 2010 and August 21, 2009 respectively).
Umrigar’s entry was sent to Egypt through Hobby Centre in Baroda and was selected from among several received from across the world. The award certificate was presented to her at a prize distribution ceremony at Hobby Centre, amid much acclaim from those present.
