“Looking at ourselves”
The cover picture of Parsee Ladies at Seaside ("Looking at ourselves,” Parsiana, April 7, 2011) sets the mood for this issue. It has been your best cover, in my opinion. The editorial, "The wasteland,” made me nostalgic. I grew up in Udvada and Tithal was a place we sometimes visited. It was scenic and had a good beach.

I enjoyed the "Readers’ Forum” too, especially Dali Jussawala’s tongue-in-cheek "A joy forever” and Dara Khodaiji going 100 years back. He should have added an explanatory line to the effect that the meaning of the word "gay” has changed completely in the past 50 years! Rustom Khambata’s fig-leaf, nosey parker and Al Gore responses were witty.
"A life in London” shows the versatility of Bahar Brunton — short story writer, violinist, professional cook and scriptwriter... Wow! But my favorite was the interview with cricketer Zubin Surkari.
