Bail for Kobad Ghandy
Maoist leader Kobad Ghandy, who has been incarcerated in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since September 2009 was granted bail on June 15, 2010 by a court in Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, because the police failed to file a charge-sheet against him even after six months of his arrest in a conspiracy case. This report, filed by the Press Trust of India (PTI) on June 16 was carried by the national media on the following day.

Kobad Ghandy: case of conspiracy
The report notes that the Karimnagar Additional Judicial Magistrate P. Rajendra Reddy granted bail on condition that Ghandy appear before the Karimnagar rural police once a month for a period of six months. The court also directed him to furnish two sureties.
Earlier, in November 2009, the Karimnagar police had brought Ghandy from Delhi to Andhra Pradesh on production of a warrant in connection with a case of conspiracy based on a confession made by another Maoist leader, Malla Raji Reddy, PTI stated.
