Kobad Ghandy: lengthy legal process

"The matter has been fixed for November 5, 2014,” stated the court, while pegging the bail amounts for the three police personnel at Rs 5,000 each. The website notes that the court is currently recording statements of prosecution witnesses.
On July 16, 2012 the court had framed charges against Ghandy for allegedly being a member of a banned terror group and furthering its activities in violation of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). However, he was absolved by the court of terror charges reportedly due to lack of proper sanction. Later, a fresh charge sheet was filed by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police who were said to have obtained renewed sanction to prosecute him under the UAPA.
