“No to cremation”

I refer to the letter "No to cremation” (Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, January 7, 2010) by Noshir Daboo. The writer states that these are his own views. Well, he is free to have them, like anyone else.

I am sure he has not visited any electric crematoria — thousands and perhaps lakhs of which are used in most of the advanced countries which have very high hygienic standards — much higher than what is prevailing in India (and we are not discussing the standards as observed in our dakhmas)! In Poona we have three electric crematoria and I would request Daboo to come and see them for himself and then put his hand on his heart and state if what he has mentioned in his letter is true.
