Mobile treasures

A pioneering venture is the publication of SMS Treasures, also by Sidhva who is much taken by the range of mobile telephone communications that have "broken all barriers.” With the advent of SMS (short messaging service) and with competition bringing down the cost exponentially, people have "reduced writing letters and greeting cards to each other.” People prefer the easier method of talking over the phone and sending greetings or condolences by SMS, he mentions. Having received and collected a number of such messages on diverse subjects, he has compiled them in this little 40-page pocket book, under the banner of Knowlegiate Publication, Dadar Athornan Institute, 651-52, Firdausi Road, Parsee Colony, Dadar, Bombay 400014 the broad headlines of General, Friendship and Humor.
In the first General category are nuggets like "Beauty and color may attract the eyes but a smile on the face can draw the attention of the heart. So always have a smile on your face.” A sample from the Friendship category reads: "Friendship. It’s a package of feeling. Nobody can make it. Nobody can delete it. Nobody can explain it. Only we can feel it.” On the Humor side savor these: "When your life is in darkness pray to God. Ask Him to free you from darkness and after you pray and you are still in darkness, please pay your electricity bill.” Among the many offerings is this one: "World’s most unexpected joke: What happens after a lion roars? Take a guess, think. Tom and Jerry cartoon starts.” SHERENE VAKIL
