Farah’s fundraiser
Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan, whose mother is a Zoroastrian, is planning a mega show with some of Bollywood’s biggest stars to raise funds for Bombay’s Jai Vakeel School for Children in Need of Special Care, as reported in Mid Day on October 28, 2009.
"It was through her gynecologist Dr Anahita Pandole that Khan came to know about the Jai Vakeel School which cares for mentally challenged children from all walks of society. Impressed by their work, she spoke to the trustees. Apparently they are in dire need of funds,” an unnamed source informed the evening tabloid. Khan also had a video on the school taken by a professional agency and almost broke down while watching it, the newspaper wrote.

Khan plans to compere the fundraiser, along with a couple of other celebrities (which might include her brother, director Sajid Khan). The source adds that she will also be approaching several television channels with a unique concept for the show which she wants them to telecast. The channel that offers the best deal will be signed on. Khan is devoting her time and energy to this project as she sincerely feels for the children and the money will go to a really good cause, Mid Day says.
