“Anger management”

"Anger management” (Editorial Viewpoint, Parsiana, November 21, 2009) was as usual well written, but I have to point out a flaw in it. Firstly, never equate Mayawati with Narendra Modi. They are as different as chalk from cheese. Like many, you too seem to be judgmental about Modi.
Regarding the Modi government’s complicity in the 2002 riots, the matter is sub-judice so let the law take its course. You further state that Modi did not get a visa to visit USA because of the above reason. This is ironic. Why this holier than thou attitude of the American government when the whole world knows they are the plunderers of Afghanistan, Korea, Kuwait and Iraq, just to name a few countries?
Closer to home, where is the Bombay we knew what with the "Marathi manoos (sons of the soil)” andolans, bomb blasts and rampages that take place frequently? At least we boast of a very stable Gujarat, a safe haven with a prospering economy and no lunatics screaming for "Gujarati manas.” People who live in Gujarat feel secure, specially the Parsis. We are looked up to as men of honesty, philanthropy and as having strong business acumen and are appreciated by everyone, including Modi. No, I am not a Bharatiya Janata Party fan but am most certainly pro Modi because at the end of the day we live in a state that has stability, development, safety and prosperity. What more can one ask for? Why not come to Gujarat and see it for yourself? RODA D. HAKIM
