“Row over Rampal”

I was quite shocked to read about the reaction of our much respected brethren on the Arjun Rampal issue ("Row over Rampal,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, September 7, 2009) . God, have we become so sick? We are all God’s children and every human being has a right to enter any place of worship provided he does not desecrate or vandalize it. Why should our places of worship be our private preserve?

If Dinshaw Mehta, Firoza Punthakey-Mistree and her brilliant husband Khojeste want to excommunicate me as a Parsi on this issue I would be delighted. But I know they won’t, because they know that I am more a Parsi than any of them can ever be. And even if they do, to their utter frustration I shall ever remain a Parsi, and a proud one at that!
