“Beyond personal grief”

In his article "Beyond personal grief” (Parsiana, December 21, 2008) Aspi D. Moddie has put forward Brian Swimme’s ideas that daffodils and human beings were created from protons and neutrons after a slow continuous evolutionary process after billions of years.
The fundamental question is whether the elementary sub-atomic particles can per se generate life in daffodils and in human beings. Highly improbable. Hence the alternate "God’s intelligent design” theory described below.
Initially Almighty God created the stars in the universe which are glowing infernos of hydrogen containing a single proton and an electron. Under the impact of the fusion processes taking place in the interior of the stars, all the known elements in nature from the lightest helium and lithium to the heaviest thorium and uranium were synthesized. These elements form the inanimate building blocks.
At some stage, some of the stars exploded in a supernova creating the planets. As the planets cooled down, complex organic and inorganic substances were formed. The hypothesis that these inanimate substances could create life in the daffodils and implant soul into mankind was unconvincing and far-fetched.
Hence the anti-Darwinists believe in the two-stage creation process: the first stage from the stars to the inanimate building blocks in nature by the slow evolutionary process and the second from the inanimate to the animate when God infused life and soul in the planet creating the various species, the flora, fauna and humans. They further argue that "the missing link” between the monkey and man has never been found.
It is worth mentioning that not all planets in the universe can harbor life. The planet must be in a "habitable zone” not too near nor too far from the parent star, such that the average temperature is around 25° Celsius. It must have plentiful supply of water and be surrounded by a magnetic field to shield it from bombardment by dangerous and lethal radiations from outer space. We on planet Earth were lucky because our planet fulfilled the above-mentioned requirements and therefore till now Earth is the only planet known to harbor life. Dr P. D. SUNAVALA
