Does God exist?
Can one answer this question now or does one have to wait till one reaches the point in life when one is about to meet one’s Creator? Can we take the word of Zarathushtra that there is only one God or do we need further proof?
As a youngster my parents taught me that life is but a trial marathon run. Supreme Court Justice Rohinton Nariman, in his book, The Gathas: The Inner Fire, Hay House, 2016 states, "… and they will be triumphant in the ordeal that is life — as if they have successfully gone through mother lava unscathed...” Each one has to bear her/his cross. The difference lies in how we do so.
When highly successful individuals are questioned regarding which single factor has contributed the most to their success, the answer is often "luck.” What is luck but a series of advantageous events? Can these occur without guidance from an all pervading force?
In a way, our religion distinguishes itself from most others by putting the individual at the center of all activities. There are no diktats. One decides for oneself what is right and what is wrong and bears the consequences of one’s own actions. This makes it a very attractive proposition for those born into other faiths and as compared with their own they feel our faith is the most relevant for the present age.
If God does indeed exist, what does God look like? Is He a male with long hair and a flowing white beard as He often is portrayed to be? Or is She a lady dressed in an elegant tunic? If God is an all pervading mysterious force, God probably exists as a bundle of energy, a cloud or a spirit, invisible to the naked eye… imperceptible, but on call when needed. What is the inner voice but God trying to communicate with us? Listen if you want good advice!
It is believed that as one nears the end of one’s life, one tends to evaluate how one has fared in life. Has one done justice to Gathic principles? In both my professional and personal lives I can recount at least three occasions when I had to trudge through lava. As I believe I have been adequately rewarded for the manner in which I have conducted myself, I am ready to face my maker. Are you?
The question is not of belief or whether one believes in the Almighty. It's whether Almighty believes in you. When you are one with Almighty there is no duality. He is you & you are him. Nothing more, nothing less. Religion is man made & of very recent origin. Our Universe is 13.80 Billion years old. Think about the sheer scale of things & then relate it to man's conjuring of ideas & things.🌹
