Strong in swimming
With two golds and two silvers each, schoolboys Hormuz Baliwala and Astaad Irani jointly won the Men’s Individual Championship at the XVI FOZAWAC All Parsees Aquatic Meet. Spenta Daruwalla, the youngest of the three Daruwalla siblings, all of whom are champion swimmers, capitalized on the absence of sister Shazneen to win the Women’s Individual Championship as well as the Girls under 14 title. Cyrus Titina (Boys under 14), Zenia Irani (Girls under 11) and Zal Colah (Boys under 11) were the other Individual Champions.

The meet, sponsored by Zarir Baliwala at the Body Rhythm pool in south Bombay on November 25, 2007, saw a goodly congregation of swimmers from Bombay, Poona and Dahanu. Conducting the events were veterans Adi Bharucha and Percy Hakim along with Vispi Besania and others, as per the details forwarded by FOZAWAC general secretary Rusi Bhumgara.
