Masani’s mandate

Hormuzd Masani, secretary general of the Audit Bureau of Circulations, India (ABC) was unanimously elected president of the Asia Pacific Audit Bureaux of Circulations (APABC) at a meeting held in Bombay on November 10, 2008, as per a press release received by Par­­­si­ana from ABC. Other members of APABC besides India are Australia, BPA Worldwide (USA), China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore.



Hormuzd Masani: audit appointments


Two days later, on November 12, Masani was elected to the executive board of the International Federation of Audit Bureaux of Circulations (IFABC) at its general assembly convened in Bombay. Masani will serve as honorary treasurer of IFABC which has as its members representatives of bureaux in Australia, Hungary, Malaysia, Poland, Spain, Sweden and USA, in addition to India, informs the press release. Masani informed Parsiana over the telephone that both his new appointments are executive positions in bodies that conduct circulation audits of the print media in the regions where they have members.
A voluntary federation of industry sponsored organizations since 1963, IFABC is established in 37 countries to verify and report on facts about circulation of publications and related data. ABC India, established in 1948, is a founder member of IFABC. Masani has been its secretary general since December 1998. ABC India audits and certifies circulation figures of over 400 member publications every six months, the press release concludes.
