Irani excels

The only Indian to be made president of the Texas Association of Women Dentists, "Dr Shireen Irani’s amazing dedication, hard work and ingenuity, has set an example for other Zoroastrians to follow,” notes Dr Porus Turner in a message to Parsiana. The press release forwarded by Turner mentions the honors and awards Irani earned while studying for her dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.

Dr Shireen Irani: dental excellence

The daughter of Aban and Khodadad Irani of Bombay, Shireen’s quest for higher education was whetted by the Dean’s Scholarship she earned at the bachelor level in molecular biology. Turner himself, as the family dentist, propelled her interest in dentistry. Earning an academic scholarship to the Baylor College of Dentistry, Irani pursued her career with passion, garnering awards en route. The International College of Dentistry Leadership Award, the Senior Student Award for academic excellence and outstanding leadership, the Award for Professional Community Services are some of the tokens of recognition that have come her way.
Community service for underprivileged patients and research presentations for the International Academy of Dental Research make a huge claim on Irani’s time and expertise, notes the write-up.
