“Almost all alliterations”
Kersi Meher-Homji of Sydney, Australia in his letter "Almost all alliterations” (Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, May 21, 2008) observes that in the Parsiana dated March 21, 2008 he found fascinating articles with many of the headlines rich in alliterations.
The editors’ reply provided readers with a further display of wordplay. On reading the reply one would imagine that the staff would be miffed over the jestful and indiscreet reference to them as "tired, tenured, talentless, tactless, text technicians.” Some serious secondary support should be extended equally exuberantly to these docile, dutiful, diligent, decent, devoted, dedicated, determined diehards doing a good job ungrudgingly.
Congratulating these tame, tutored, tolerant, time-tested, tenacious treasures, let me speak in their well deserved defense in the most appropriate manner I can contrive.
The magazine’s interaction with the Parsi community will help one conclude that Parsiana’s performance, popularity, progress, potential, perpetuity are all directly proportional to the perseverance, patience, propensity, pertinacity, productivity put into operation over the decades by them. Consequently the magazine’s success attests to the careful, considered, continued, collective, cooperative contribution that needs acknowledgement.
Raising a toast to these "tired, tactless, tenured, talentless text technicians” I wish that they may always, abidingly, ardently, acceptedly and artfully alliterate!
