“Noise reducing Nano?”

Kersi Meher-Homji of Sydney, Australia’s letter "Noise reducing Nano?” (Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, April 7, 2008) makes me believe he must have once been a Bombayite as he so vividly describes the problems of honking.
A few years ago I visited a small but beautiful island country. There were startled looks on the faces of motorists when my host accidentally honked his car horn. Honking in that country is an exception whereas in India it is the norm and traffic police in none of the states of our country dare take away the "fundamental right” of honking by motorists.
