Doctorate awarded

Bombay University has awarded a PhD degree in Business Economics to Prof Jehangir Bharucha for his thesis "Economics of Education with reference to cost, efficiency and productivity of vocational education.” His study deals with the cost benefit analysis of vocational education in commerce in Bombay University. An inter-disciplinary and micro-empirical study of this nature is very useful for prospective vocational students and graduates, as also to institutions wishing to start or reexamine career oriented programs. The study is believed to have important policy implications for educational planners in India and in Asian countries on the vocationalization of education.



Prof Jehangir Bharucha: useful study

Bharucha, 36, has been teaching Economics at Bombay’s H. R. College for the past 15 years and is director of postgraduate studies overseeing MCom and Management students.
