Juvenile justice activist
As a result of submissions and suggestions made by amicus curiae Maharukh Adenwalla, the Bombay High Court has directed the Maharashtra Government to file a reply in a week regarding the implementation of the Juvenile Justice Act, reports The Indian Express of October 12.

Advocate-acti-vist Maharukh Adenwalla
The noted advocate-activist has stated that the number of Juvenile Justice Boards in the city and suburbs is inadequate and that vacancies in all institutions managed by the Children’s Aid Society must be filled. To counter the huge pendency of cases, Adenwalla has suggested that the state should notify multiple Juvenile Justice Courts for each zone in the city and suburbs. An additional Juvenile Justice Board should also be constituted to examine the issue of trafficking in minor girls and girls forced into the flesh trade.
