Flights of fancy
Twenty-five children in Baroda in the seven to 17 age-group got a chance to visit the air force base and learn about the working of airplanes and the insides of a cockpit due to the initiative undertaken by the BUZY (Baroda United Zoroastrian Youth) Education Fund Committee to promote learning and excellence through exposure. This program of Shree Parsi Panchayat, Baroda, aims to organize field trips and fun outings for school and college students to "not only increase their knowledge but provide a platform for self expression and team work,” as mentions a press release by Panchayat president Jal Patel.

The interactive session on April 24, 2006 enabled the children to seek responses to their queries, view an audiovisual presentation and understand how to join the air force and why it was a good career choice.
On returning to their Dharamshala base the children were absorbed in a short writing session on topics like "Flying high,” and "How I would plan this trip differently.” This exciting and informative session proved to be a great learning experience.
