Excelling in elocution

Competing with students of 60 schools at The 2nd M. R. Pai Memorial Inter-School Elocution Contest conducted by the Forum of Free Enterprise and sponsored by Godrej Industries Limited on January 26, 2006, Kerman Cooper bagged the second prize which earned him Rs 3,000, notes a write-up from Marzban Giara.

Cooper: consistent

A Std IX student of Bombay’s Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsi Charitable Institution, last year Cooper had won the third prize at this contest. The success of this consistent performer is also due to the encouragement of his parents, teachers and principal of his school Diana Marfatia who motivate and encourage him to excel by being present at the contest although January 26, being Republic Day, is a public holiday, states the write-up.

The Forum of Free Enterprise observes January 26 each year as its annual Youth Day. Besides conducting the inter-school and inter-collegiate elocution competitions on behalf of the M. R. Pai Foundation, the Forum also conducts leadership training camps every December at the Leslie Sawhney Centre at Deolali.
