WZO’s stand

It has come to our attention that grossly misleading and dishonest statements are being circulated that the World Zoroastrian Organisation (WZO) is a hotbed of converts to the Zoroastrian faith and accepts neo-Zoroastrians, whatever that means, as its members.
Such propaganda is an act of desperation on the part of those opposed to the formation of the International Zoroastrian Organisation (IZO), World Zoroastrian Organisation of Federations (WZO-F) and World Zoroastrian Organisation of Individuals (WZO-I).
WZO has made no secret of the fact that we have a few non-Zoroastrian spouses as members of the Organisation (approximately six or so). In 1993, WZO held a ballot amongst its membership which, overwhelmingly voted in favor of the change. Perhaps our membership’s perception of the community’s needs to hold the family together is deeper and more profound than those who malign worthy organizations such as WZO from the rooftops to achieve their own goals.
WZO-I has already agreed to ensure that it will only nominate Parsi/Irani Zoroastrians as nominees to the IZO board.
For the information of the community, the membership is spread over the following countries: India, Pakistan, Iran, UK, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE, Bermuda.
