Save the community

Parsi Zoroastrians are still living in the past. We salute our ancestors who were great educationists, jurists, philanthropists and leaders in all fields. With their hard work and vision they achieved excellence and have given so much to our community on a platter. They placed us on the map of India as the most distinguished, respected, honest and philanthropic community because they were united. They commanded respect and gave the same respect equally to the poor and the rich. They were true nationalists and Zoroastrians who lived by the principles of Zarathushtra, i.e. good thoughts, good words and good deeds, always striving for the best to benefit our community.
Even in the present days we have so many great and successful leaders in each field, but I wonder why they are not willing to come forward, form a solid group and take over the reins of our community. If this is done they could help abolish poverty, encourage higher education, create more jobs, generate more and more affordable housing and create an environment for entrepreneurship for our youth. They could also help the sick and disabled with medical facilities and provide care for our senior citizens.
The most urgent need is to increase our population. There are many ways by which we can surely save our declining community and increase it to a reasonable number. The statistics of the births and deaths for the last so many years show that the birth ratio is declining alarmingly. It is high time we had seminars on the subject without any orthodox obstacles in order to obtain successful results.
