“Sapna” dasturs

It is time for the community to recognize their "Sapna” dasturs and diminish the tribe of "Vada” dasturs. The prefix "Vada” is nothing more than the title given by sections of the community and the Press.

They recall and extol the past when the past has ceased to exist. Hence, those of the clergy who can see the coming future deserve to be called Sapna dasturs. One such doyen, the first among equals that I had the privilege to know, was Dastur Navrooz Minochehr-Homji, head of the Petit Fasli Atash-kadeh at Churchgate.

Among the rest, not one has exercised moral uprightness. For too long have the Vada dasturs ruled the minds of the flock, brainwashed them and threatened refusal to pray for them.

It is to the Maker, to God, that we all have to answer for the lives, not to the "Vadas.”
