Double standards
The term renegade is freely used by some self styled saviors of our Parsipanu to describe priests who perform the navjote ceremonies of children of one Parsi parent as well as other ceremonies "disapproved” of by the so-called torchbearers of our faith. But what adjective can be used against those priests who performed the uthamna ceremony of the late J. R. D. Tata, that too at Doongerwadi? The conscience of such "pillars” of our faith did not cause them to raise their voice when the then panthaky of Bandra’s Tata Agiary had to quit the fire temple for standing firm in his beliefs, though one constantly finds crocodile tears being shed for the former panthaky of the Lalbaug agiary.
Is it a case of blatant double standards or do these elements feel that public memory is too short and that all bawas can be fooled at all times?
