Move with the times

We have learnt about Ervad K. N. Dastoor’s appointment as the next high priest of Navsari. We have also read that both his children have married out of the community. There is nothing wrong about it. I can see a time when we will have to accept high priests who are themselves married out, forget about their children being outmarried.

Dastur (Dr) Firoze Kotwal’s rules of purity and erudition appear to be a matter of convenience. I am told that there are two priests who have married out but continue to practice at two agiaries in Bombay.

Unless we learn to move with the times, we will live without both priests and agiaries. It is high time we sit up and cogitate about this.
