Ronnie’s achievement

Many watch family-based serials like Shagun, Kehta Hai Dil, Bhabhi on television under the banner of United Television (UTV). The force behind UTV, founded in 1990, is its chief executive officer Ronnie Screwvala.

Screwvala has recently been appointed to the board of the International Television Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the organization which hosts the annual Emmy awards.

These awards honor the special skills and unique talents of companies which create television programs worldwide. India is fast becoming a major attraction for international majors, especially Hollywood and Ronnie’s appointment is a further endorsement to that.

To be appointed a director on the 100-member board of the Academy, from over 50 countries, is no mean achievement. BHIKHAJI M. ADENWALLA
