In search of a Tata
About 50 years ago the nearly six-foot-tall, handsome, romantic Tata (I’m not sure of his first name) used to represent St. Xavier’s College in Inter Collegiate Boxing Tournaments. The tournaments then were held at the old University Grounds at Rajabai Tower, Fountain.

I, Z. M. Zend (Irani), represented Siddharth College in the same middle class weight (now I am super heavy) and we boxed each other’s brains out. Fali Billimoria was the coach for Siddharth College and Vincent Pereira was the coach for Xavier’s.
The next year I was boxing for Xavier’s from where I did my BSc in mathematics. I will be pleased if someone can get me in touch with this Tata who must be nearly 70 now. I can be contacted at Yazdani Bakery, Cowasjee Patel Street, Fort, Bombay 400001, tel: 22875741, 22842954.
