Make prayers vibrate

Have you ever felt a sense of tranquility, peace and goose-pimples just by hearing our prayers said by a baritone-voiced mobed? We may not understand what is recited but the vibrating sound of a well said prayer is like music to a starved ear!
But then how many mobeds have this power? Maybe one or two to be precise. So I feel it should be one of the prerequisites of their training to develop their voices — after all it’s said the vibrations of our Avesta prayers can work wonders!
In the cassette sung by Suresh Wadkar on Sai Mantra and the Gayatri Mantra, the shlokas, set to music, are repeated 108 times. So well sung and soothing is it that your day has to be fine if you hear it.
Can we not have our prayers like the Ashem Vohu and Yatha Ahu Vairyo set to music? No, not the taporia (mediocre) fare that is churned out, but by say a short commentary and meaning by none other than Amitabh Bachan and then the prayers sung by ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh. Such a cassette would be lapped up by every Parsi home, here in India and abroad as well.
