FOZYA’s Goan interlude

By Farrokh Jijina · November 21-December 6, 2024
"A lot of new friends were made… We even know of two couples who joined hands and left the group… so we are quite sure it was a success,” stated Federation of Zoroastrian Youth Associations (FOZYA) president Mabrin Nanavatti, in conversation with Parsiana on November 10, 2024. He was speaking to us about their 30th annual youth meet organized at Hotel Colva Kirana, South Goa, from October 31 to November 3. "What was to be a small group of just 35 to 40 delegates went up to 80, with youth coming from Surat, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bombay and Poona,” stated a delighted Nanavatti in a press note. What were the subjects discussed and who were the speakers? Parsiana asked Nanavatti. "No speakers this time… Just games and interaction… Goa is the only destination where we do not call speakers… At every other location where we have had our meets we have had speakers on religion, business ethics and the like,” he responded.
Donors included the Bombay Parsi Punchayet, World Zoroastrian Organisation Trusts, (infrastructure company) Rustomjees and some individuals.
