FOZYA’s 20th meet
The Federation of Zoroastrian Youth Associations (FOZYA), now in its 20th year, has seen a lot of activity in the past year. FOZYA held the 18th All India Youth Meet at Poona in May 2010, the 19th All India Youth Meet at Baroda in November 2010 and an Intercity Youth Meet at Goa in May 2011. During the last decade FOZYA has had many interesting meets at Goa, Bordi, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Nagpur, Dahanu, Poona and many other places. This year FOZYA, in conjunction with the Zoroastrian Youth for the Next Generation (ZYNG), the youth body of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet, has organized the 20th All India Youth Meet in Bombay from October 27-30, 2011.
FOZYA has reached a milestone which would not have been possible without the participation of its delegates and sponsors. Its basic agenda is to rekindle the spirit of interaction and assimilation among Zoroastrian youth. It is also committed to the advancement of the Zoroastrian faith and knowledge, while maintaining a policy which respects the diverse traditions and practices of Parsi/Irani Zoroastrians in India. FOZYA’s motto is to "keep our youth within our community.”
The venue for the 20th All India Youth Meet in Bombay is the Avabai Petit School in Bandra, where all sessions will be held and meals taken. Accommodation for delegates has been arranged at the Taj Land’s End hotel. Delegate fees are now at Rs 5,000, inclusive of stay at the Taj for three nights and delicious meals by Tanaz Godiwalla. The organizing committee has come up with some exciting icebreakers, religious sessions and games to keep the delegates engrossed throughout. Every evening will have music and dance to the beat of popular Bombay DJs. The meet not only promises participants new friends but also fun-filled evenings and very interactive sessions, not necessarily on religion alone. The age group will be restricted to between 16 and 40 years. This is not a matrimonial meet. Registration forms are available at www.zyng. org, so keep checking for further details. The forms received will be processed on a first come first served basis as accommodation is limited.
