Sutaria streaming

"Apurva is a survival drama that talks about the limit to which a woman would go in the face of adversity,” actor Tara Sutaria told Parsiana about her first appearance on an OTT (over the top) platform that released on November 15, 2023 on Disney+Hotstar. Set in the Chambal area of Madhya Pradesh, Sutaria plays the title role of a girl who is abducted by a gang of dacoits. Her efforts to regain her freedom form the crux of the film, written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. "So grateful that the film has been appreciated already and the response has been so overwhelming,” she told us via her mother Tina.

The actor wrote on her Instagram handle: "Day one…Thank you for so many notes, flowers and tons of love… Apurva is now yours on Disney+Hotstar and we are so touched by the response already.”

Tina forwarded to Parsiana words of praise that film websites had carried about Tara’s performance. "Tara steals the show in this edge-of-the-seat survival thriller,” said news website www.english.jagran.com. "Brilliant acting, you will know what a single girl can do,” stated the website of ABP News platform (abplive.com), adding this was Tara’s best performance so far. "Tara proves she is more than just a pretty face as she makes you root for her in this gritty survival drama,” stated fashion, TV and entertainment website bollywoodbubble.com. However, the Hindustan Times of November 17 said the survival thriller "needed more brainstorming and less head clobbering,” while The Indian Express of November 15 called it a "predictable tale of brutality and bravery.”

Tara’s earlier theatrical releases have included Ek Villian Returns, Heropanti 2 and Tadap, among others; she has appeared in music videos and has sung western classical and operatic arias with the Bombay Chamber Orchestra and the Stop Gaps Choral Ensemble and done musical theater at the National Center for the Performing Arts.
