Steering clear

Tata Motors will now deliver its cars to customers in a plastic bubble (pictured) with a partially transparent wall around the car. This is part of the car manufacturer’s "Sanitised by Tata Motors” initiative "ensuring your favourite cars and SUVs are shielded from germs while they await you at our dealerships,” noted the manufacturer’s Twitter handle. This safety bubble is another step to shield the car from bacteria and viruses, according to news reports.
The manufacturer’s "Click to Drive” program launched early on during the lockdown aims at integrating their dealer network with the customer towards a contactless delivery. Potential customers can select their vehicles through online video brochures, opt for a preferred dealership, pay the booking amount online and await the dealer’s call for further steps, which include delivery at home or at the dealership, depending on the customer’s choice.
