Dignity at Doongerwadi
On October 19, 2020, I lost my eldest masi (mother’s sister), Meher Driver. She was a lady of utmost dignity and grace. The entire family was shocked by her sudden passing away. In this moment of extreme grief and shock, the current Covid-19 situation made matters worse. There were restrictions on entering an agiary, so we decided to have the four-day funerary prayers at the newly-renovated, immaculately clean Bhabha bungli at Bombay’s Doongerwadi.

My family and I extend heartfelt gratitude to each and every one at Doongerwadi for extending support and service at every step.
From the office staff to the janitors to the gentlemen who served us our meals, everyone was extremely kind and courteous, making the entire stay at Doongerwadi easier for our bereaved family.
We sincerely hope that the staff at Doongerwadi continues to perform their duties with sincerity and love. I am certain the souls of the deceased would bless them. My masi was indeed blessed to have her final journey in the most beautiful place and in the most dignified way. My masis, Kashmira and Jasmine Driver, and parents, Dolly and Jimmy Mirza, join me in thanking all these people for their kindness.
