All that is good

The other day, I attended a puja on the premises of a large corporate house held on the ground floor of its office. The priest who led the puja spoke for about 20 minutes on the importance of doing good by being good and recognizing the good in others. The last, he stressed the most.
My mind naturally went to the Zoroastrian tenets of good thoughts, good words and good deeds. Parsis just need to keep doing good so that good survives, even as the Parsi population dives to zero. We will be remembered and recast as representing all that is good.

  • Taking Mr. Nawshir D. Kharody's excellent observation a step further... Wouldn't it be a step forward if the Dastur and Mobed Sahebs at the conclusion of a religious event or prayer session would spend a few minutes giving a suitable sermon in a language understood by the congregation? All Zoroastrian rituals and paid prayer sessions lack such a community education opportunity. Whether it is a marriage, Novjote, prayers of remembrances or occasions like Nowroze and other cultural and religious observations. Would it not be an excellent opportunity for the "Dharam Guru" to speak to the congregation after the recitation of prayers that are not understood by the congregation?
